And thus begins week 2. Tonight was chest & back again. Basically all push ups and pull ups. This night I decided to go with the green band (hardest one we have) for the pull ups because I figured it would be closer to actually doing pull ups. I was still able to get as many and sometimes more than last week, so that was nice progress to see. I was also able to do more push ups and even figured out how to do the dive bomber push ups... those are crazy because they look super fun but wow, they're hard! and there's really no way to do them on your knees. Speaking of which, for regular push ups I made a point of starting out on my feet and then going to my knees when I couldn't do any more.
Had the recovery drink tonight. Yumm-o! I've had it a couple of times before but now that we actually got ourselves a tub I'll be nice to have regularly. Way more stuff in it than other sports drinks, mainly that it has vitamins. And it tastes like an orange julius... not that I've been to an Orange Julius in forever, but the drink has a creamy orange flavor that I really like. Not the typical salty taste of sports drinks. Plus, I've come to associate most sports drinks with the too strong varieties that are served at marathons.
We also got the P90X protein bars. Had one this afternoon and it was SO filling. Course, with 20g of protein plus other nutrients it stands to reason! I probably prefer Shakeology to soothe my sweet tooth, but the protein bar sure filled me for longer.
