Today was the first time I really felt like I made a super bad food choice. I wanted a little something salty and was at Walgreens buying candy for office trick-or-treators. So I got a bag of chips. And ate most of them. Not a small bag. Not that I haven't eaten my share of chips at football parties, but the snack at work so wasn't needed. I don't even think I was hungry. But, rather than get frustrated with myself I decided to take motivation from it.
It was a beautiful day, so I went for a 2 mile run. Man, now that felt great! It's been forever since I've run that short of a distance. Course, lately I haven't been running at all. I went all out and felt so great about it. The Nike+ told me that my pace was just over 10 mins per mile. Now, I know that that's not traditionally seen as a fast pace. But, it was pretty much my standard pace pre-pregnancy. Post-pregnancy I've been content with the 11 to 11:30 pace. Today's run gave me hope for where my running will be once I've completed P90X.
So, tonight's exercise was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps followed by Ab Ripper. This workout was new for me. I think I'd seen bits of it on Todd's first round, but it fell on a day when he usually worked out late. So, often I would have to watch a move a couple of times before I could join. But, they were generally 'do as many as you can' and I still had plenty of time to wear out my arms. It was crazy to have a workout that was so hard and all arms. I don't know how my arms are going to feel tomorrow, but it scares me.
Maybe someday I'll be able to do more than one set of the push-ups off my knees. Or the clapping push-ups without totally sitting back. I love the challange!
