Tonight we did Yoga X. It 's interesting how that workout is seeming to go quicker now. Which is good because it lasts over 90 mins and we do it every week, twice on recovery weeks.
I was so close to doing the chataranga (sp?) tonight. It's this move you do to push from plank to upward dog. Back when I did almost exclusively yoga I got to where I could do it. And I'm almost there. In Yoga X you do it a lot in the first 45 mins and there were several times that I felt like I was an inch or less away from being able to push through. Maybe next time. Or at least next week.
I had more balance issues this week. I have both a pilates mat and a yoga mat. The difference being that the pilates mat is thicker. Last time I used my yoga mat and found that the lesser padding wasn't as kind to my bones and hands. So I went back to the pilates mat today; there is a reason yoga mats are thinner: balance moves. But, maybe working harder to balance isn't a bad thing.
I also found that some of the stretch was tighter today and I wonder if that's because I was pushing so hard on the stretch yesterday.
Lance Armstrong wrote a thing for Runner's World after he ran his first marathon about how it was a horrible idea to sit in the hot tub and drink wine after a marathon. Happily I haven't found that to be the case with P90X!
