Today was Plyometrics. It's basically a workout of jumping, with squats thrown in for good measure. It lasts just under an hour. When I started the workout I was thinking 'at least my legs are done being sore from the 1/2 marathon on Sunday. I was wrong. Like two moves in they were already screaming! But I pushed. Modified some moves to be less intense but kept going. This was the first time I did the hopping on one leg portion; when I joined Todd previously I always did the modified jump rope move... so yay me!
This is my least favorite of the cardio workouts (as opposed to the strength building workouts) but it was nice to see some progress today. And this is the cardio workout I need the most. I figure plyo is the most likely to improve my running - both for leg strength and endurance. I think it might be Todd's favorite workout, so it's nice that we're working out together.
Tomorrow rather than doing the P90X routine on the schedule we'll be working out live with Tony Horton, as he'll be at the Embassy Suites (in Lincoln NE). Todd did a workout with him in January and it seemed like a tough time. I was tired from watching, but then I was also 7 months pregnant. I'm excited and scared that I get to join this time. Should be a pretty intense 1 1/2 hours.
If you're in Lincoln, Tony's speaking for free from 11-12. Come on down to Embassy and be my guest!
