Before you start P90X they suggest that you take a fit test to see if you'll be able to survive and benefit from the workouts. (My words, they said something that sounded better.) I did the fit test yesterday and was happy to pass all but one area... the pull-up area. Of course, they do say that you'll probably be okay to proceed, as most people can't do a pull-up. One of my hopes from this program is that I'll be able to do a pull-up by the time I'm done. I've never done one of those.
My least favorite part of yesterday was taking the 'before' picture. But, if I was satisfied with where I am I don't know that I would have the same motivation. I'm telling myself that I had a baby just over 6 months ago. I am currently back to where I was when I started using Beachbody products last summer. At that time I used Slim in 6 to lose about 15 lbs and was feeling pretty good about myself. After giving birth in March, I was released from the doctor to workout at my 6 week follow up appointment, and I turned to Slim in 6 again with satisfying results.
But, enough rambling about the past. I'm now ready to undertake P90X for the first time and I think it'll be an adventure. I've done most of the workouts before (when my husband was doing his first round of P90X and I joined him some nights). I know there are some I really like and some that I'm dreading having to do regularly. But, I've seen the results the hubby got and I'm impressed.
Todd will be doing his second round of P90X while I do my first. So, it'll be nice to workout together every night. (Well, 6 nights per week.) And we'll be focusing on following the nutritional plan. So, if you see me with an Oreo or bag of chips slap me!
Here we go...
